What is your first step toward health and vitality? When you are ready to make a change in your health, where do you begin?
Take a minute…stop and think about your health. Check in with your body. How do you feel right now? This minute? Do you have energy? Do you have any pain? Are you hungry? Full? Indigestion? How does your skin feel? Are you eyes pulling? Do you feel strong? Happy? Angry? Impatient? Needing some alone time? Needing a hug?
It is so important to know what you are feeling. In your rush, rush busy world, you stop paying attention to things that are always around you. Wherever you are standing or sitting right now, without turning around, can you picture what is right behind you? Probably not. You see and feel so many things that just don’t register in your consciousness. This is your brain working as effectively and efficiently as possible in getting things done, but this can be detrimental to your health.
Your body is working hard to keep balance. It is telling you what it needs, but you ignore your body. You think it is just something passing, until one day you realize you no longer have energy. You just can’t get going. You feel blah, or worse, you are sick. Chronic illness is on the rise. You can’t do anything about your genes, but the expression of your genes is created by what you do, eat, think, move each and every day.

If you are healthy and happy, take a moment to feel gratitude for your health, for your happiness.
If you aren’t as healthy as you want to be, then pay attention. What is your body telling you? Are you eating something that isn’t nourishing you? Are you too stationary? Are you too stressed? Are you getting enough sleep? Do you need some friend time? Maybe you need to reconnect with your partner? Listen. Take a minute and really listen. Do you hear it?
