You love to read, but you let life get in your way and barely picked up a book last year. You love challenges; they keep you motivated. Healthy living is a priority in your life or you want it to be. You are motivated by being in a group. If so, then the Healthy Living Reading Challenge 2016 is for you. #ISWReadingChallenge.
Books clubs are fantastic. I run a local Healthy Living Book Club where we meet once a month at a local coffee shop to discuss a healthy living book that we read for the month. I started it last July. The women in the group are fantastic, and I look forward to the meeting every month. We are currently reading, Super Genes by Deepak Chopra, M.D. and Rudolph E Tanzi, Ph.D. However, if you aren’t local, you can’t join. Plus, book clubs limit you to a specific book. What if you don’t want to read that book?
Instead, I have created a challenge to read 12 Healthy Living books in 2016 based on categories. This was inspired by Modern Ms. Darcy. She runs a 2016 Reading Challenge for fiction on her blog. Technically you could read non-fiction too, but most people read fiction. By the way, if you love to read, you have to check out her blog.
I believe it is important to read health and fitness books in order to stay informed on the latest in activities, research, and opportunities for your health. The challenge list is simple, doable and flexible. That is what makes it fun.
Track your books on this challenge. Print out the PDF and check the books off as you read one for each category. You can write the name of the book next to it. Keep it simple. You can use Goodreads. I have been on Goodreads since 2009 with over 600 books read to date. I love being able to see what I read and what I like. Check out Goodreads.

I hope you join me in reading 12 Healthy Living Books in 2016. I will be doing this challenge, reading 12 healthy living books for my local book club, and participating in Modern Ms. Darcy’s 2016 Reading Challenge. That is only 36 books. For me, who read over 70 in 2016, that leaves plenty of room to pick up books that aren’t part of any challenge.

This reading challenge may be what you need to approach healthy living reading with a structure that is flexible and supportive, and may challenge you to read something you wouldn’t normally read. Won’t you join?
