20 Inspiring Mantras for Healthy Living - Inner Savvy Wellness

Do you take time to reflect and plan on your life?  Many of us do that at the beginning of the year, but why wait?  Take time now. Go ahead, schedule it on your calendar right now.

It is important to look back and see what is working and what isn’t working. However, do not dwell on the ‘not so good’.  Take what you can from those things and move forward.

I would suggest developing and writing down your priorities that you develop based on this reflection time.  You may want to read Schedule Your Priorities or They Aren’t Priorities? Take a look at all areas of your life.  Know what your priorities are and then make a plan of action by scheduling those priorities into your day.

Let’s talk about your Health.  Stop thinking you are going to do healthy things in order to lose weight. Studies show that isn’t motivating enough.  For a good read on the studies you may want to read, No Sweat: How the Simple Science of Motivation Can Bring You a Lifetime of Fitness by Michelle Segar, Ph. D. A better reason is you want to live a healthy life or you are a healthy person.

In order to get to the point where health is a part of your mindset, you may want to create a mantra or several mantras to say each day.  Repeating mantras helps you internalize your priorities and values.

    I hadn’t thought about choosing a mantra. I like the ones about being open to good habits and “My body loves me and is doing its best to be in harmony and balance.” Thank you for all of these ideas, Karen.

    I like this and I especially like the part about positivity. When I see people who exercise and eat healthy and they are happy and have a positive outlook, it inspires me to do better in my own life. Thanks for sharing!

One of the things that impresses me about the list is that the verbs are all present tense — telling your brain that you already have what you want — and that the language focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. I tell my clients, “Imagine your subconscious is a dog. When you tell it ‘no treat,’ what does it hear?” Super list.

      I am so glad you will. Too many of us do not really believe we are worthy of good health. But we are. Our bodies are wonderfully made to be in balance which means health.

I have “done” resolutions before and depending on what they are… they usually get forgotten.. lol My weight is ALWAYS a struggle but I work at it, workout every day, eat fairly right… that’s the struggle part and well… this year.. I haven’t made any commitments to “change” anything. For my biz, I always strive to improve and get bigger and better, work smarter not harder, make more money w/o taking away my time for me/family.. but it’s still new, so I’m getting there.

      Best of wishes in achieving all of your priorities on a daily basis. Break them down so they are small for each day and before you know it, you will have a long list of habits you created and things you accomplished. Happy New Year.

      Claire, sorry you have tonsillitis. After having mono at 19, I have had tonsils issues most of my life, however, I rarely have any flare ups now since my gut has been healing. Have you tried Viracid by Ortho Molecular. It is an antivirus herbal that might help you get over it faster.
